Implementation of Emergency Bunker Adjustment Factor (EBAF)
Dear Valued Customers, Due to the recent sharp increase in bunker fuel prices and the continued volatility in global fuel markets
Rising from the prevailing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, Operating costs for ocean transportation have increased significantly. In order to partially offset the impact of these exceptional fuel cost increases and to ensure the continued provision of reliable services across our network, UAFL will implement an Emergency Bunker Adjustment Factor (EBAF) as outlined below: Scope of Application: All UAFL trade lanes – Exports & Imports EBAF Levels: Container Type | Emergency Bunker Adjustment Factor 20’ Dry Container | USD 200 per container 40’ Dry / High Cube | USD 400 per container Effective Date: 16th March 2026 (onboard date) and will remain in effect until further notice. UAFL reserves the right to revise, adjust, or withdraw this surcharge depending on future developments in bunker fuel prices and operational conditions, with appropriate notice to the trade where required. All other applicable local charges, tariffs, and surcharges shall remain unchanged unless otherwise advised.
