Implementation of Emergency Bunker Adjustment Factor (EBAF)

From the prevailing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, operating costs for ocean transportation have increased significantly. In order to partially offset the impact of these exceptional fuel cost increases and to ensure the continued provision of reliable services across our network, UAFL will implement an Emergency Bunker Adjustment Factor (EBAF) as outlined below: Scope of Application: All UAFL trade lanes – Exports & Imports EBAF Levels: Container Type | Emergency Bunker Adjustment Factor 20’ Dry Container | USD 200 per container Reefer | Flat Rack | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 40’ Dry | USD 400 per container High Cube | Reefer | Flat Rack | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Effective Date: 16th March 2026 (onboard date) and will remain in effect until further notice. UAFL reserves the right to revise, adjust, or withdraw this surcharge depending on future developments in bunker fuel prices and operational conditions, with appropriate notice to the trade where required. All other applicable local charges, tariffs, and surcharges shall remain unchanged unless otherwise advised. Implementation of Emergency Operational Recovery Surcharge (EORS)
Dear Valued Customers, Due to current operational disruptions impacting vessel operations and cargo flows, additional operational Costs have been incurred to maintain service continuity.
To partially offset these costs, UAFL will implement an Emergency Operational Recovery Surcharge (EORS) as follows. Scope of Application: Applicable to all UAFL trade lanes, from all origins. Equipment Type: All equipment types Surcharge Levels Container Type | Emergency Operational Recovery Surcharge 20’ Container | USD 1,000 per container 40’ Container | USD 2,000 per container Effective Date: 16 March 2026 (based on the shipped on board date), and will remain in effect until further notice.
